stromboli:
i am a multidisplinary designer-fabricator currently based in chicago. i have experience in architectural, interior, urban, and graphic design as well as metal fabrication, carpentry and woodworking.
my work is a broad scope. stylistically, it has developed into a realm where i endeavor to blend functionalism, humanism, and “just because”.
i believe “stuff” can just be “cool”.
aesthetic as a function.
creating “complex” designs that are able to be digested in their construction by those untrained in these fields.
my main objective in life is to learn all things and teach all i have learned both directly and indirectly.
i think it means a lot to people to have “luxuries”. obviously, necessities should be met first as principle, but real joy in our society comes when someone can transcend just the necessities and obtain something they never thought they could.
basically, accessible, well-made luxuries for a happy life that can be procured by means of understanding how luxuries are made (to make for themselves) or available to all as a public entity.
i am trained in architecture, receiving a bsarch from university at buffalo school of architecture and planning, dual masters degrees in architecture and interior architecture as well as a certificate to teach technical courses in architecture from the university of oregon college of design. i am also a certified passive house consultant.
i have worked as a carpenter throughout my adult life while spending time training as a metal fabricator with some stops in the architectural world along the way.
these volumes are the “along the way”.
