stackhouse is a affordable housing proposal for the old first ward of buffalo, ny. the scheme involves the stacking of two shipping containers and an emphasis on sustainable living.

sun: stackhouse is equipequipped with a solar array on a south facing shed roof and ample south facing glass to aid the growth of plants in the interior as well as take advantage of thermal mass in the winter.

food: stackhouse features a green house condition on the first floor as well as a deck that posseses multiple planters for the growth of edible plants all year long.

water: stack house features a roof that tapers to a singular point, allow gutters to drain water to cistern located on te second floor deck.
