harp
a proposal for an occupied landscape atop the university of oregon music school.
the scheme offers a gradual grassy approach to a terraced hardscape with integrated pacific northwest vegetation as well as grassy seating areas overlooking the below courtyard. a puncture is made in the center to allow for daylight into the existing practice/recital rooms.
through the structure is a monumental playable harp that emerges from the central puncture, through a pergola, and tensioned to the nearby building facades.
