The success of the proscenium, in the theatre, comes from exposure, framing and reveal of unknown realms. What lies beyond the arch awaits in suspense to expose itself as an audience files into its seats and peers at the lit stage through the filter of heads in front of ones eye. What happens, now, when a theatre becomes the open theatre and the spectacle is not just that of the production, but dually the process of making the production. How can the idea of reveal be the dividing factor between actor and audience, public and professional? Can these ideas lure the user through space and lead the progression from street to seat? The idea of the proscenium theatre is to treat the architecture as aperture to witness the process of theatre as well as the architecture itself as an equal spectacle as that of the production.
