an artistic study of material properties.

the project mission was to take the rectalinear nature of engineered wood products, in this cas birch ply, and by using also rectalinear cuts on cnc router, transform it back into an organic form.

the cuts were made through all but one veneer. the plywood was then soaked in water and ratchet strapped around various circular objects.

i discovered in later years that curf-core exists, but it is interesting the impact of man and the necessity to create and destroy. maybe it’s a happy narrative for curf-core?
